17 - 24 september 2005 Polder Route
This week we sailed and cycled the Polder Route. A new route with as theme the polders of the IJsselmeer. The result of the battle against the water of the old Zuiderzee is this beautiful province in Holland and with excellent weather our guests cycled through Flevoland. The photos are giving a good impression of a successful week.
9 - 11 september 2005 Weekend trip
A weekend trip with the architect's firm of Jeanne Dekkers from Delft. Jeanne choose a route through the North of Holland to make drawings of the area and that resulted in several beautiful drawings of the Zaanse Schans, Alkmaar and Purmerend. The weather was that perfect that we even could swim. Our guests were enjoying this special business excursion.
27 augustus - 3 september 2005 Helmut and Renate from Bad Vilbel
This week we had known guests on board. Helmut and Renate from Bad Vilbel (Germany) were for the third time on board and brought a group of friends with them. A part of the group was from the BSV Radsportgruppe and the other part was member of the Blaulichtsänger police choir. It was a amazing week with lots of laughs and singing. Next years we do it over!
20 - 27 augustus 2005 Guests from St. Petersburg, Russia
A special route through the province of South Holland was planned for them with every day a bus excursion in stead of cycling. In despite of the language problems our guests enjoyed their week to the max.
13 - 20 augustus 2005 The route around the IJsselmeer for HAT tours
Again an international group of guests from Germany, Spain and Italy with guide Elze. Everybody enjoyed this beautiful route.
6 - 13 augustus 2005 Dutch Rivers with HAT
This week we were sailing the route of the Dutch Rivers with tour operator HAT. We had an international group with guests from Italy, Spain, England and France. The holiday started with some complications caused by delayed flights but fortunately everybody was on board by the evening. We had a nice week with this mixed group with pleasant cycling weather.
30 juli - 6 augustus 2005 Guests from Schwarzwald
In the week from 30 July till 6 August we had guests on board from Schwarzwald, with Walter Ebi as the guide. The week started with terrible weather with rain and storm but in spite of that the sportish people took the bike and started the tour. Later, when the weather was much better everybody was cycling the beautiful route and even the sun cream was needed later. On board we had loads of fun with evenings that everybody was singing. Annette, our daughter in law was dancing the Tango with one of our guests.
23 - 30 juli 2005 North Holland route with guests from Belgium
In the week from 23-30 July we have sailed again with guests from Belgium the North Route with guide Karel van Swinnen. A few times this week it was really raining cats and dogs and even once we had to dry the shoes in the engine room. Fortunately the weather got better later. Karel organized a nice quiz and the guests liked it very much. In Alkmaar a few ladies of the group have done good business in the local fashion shops, but unfortunately they didn't gave us a fashion show. Maybe next time!
16 - 23 juli 2005 Guests from Germany
From 16-23 July the group of Jurgen Apelt from Wedemark (Germany) was our guest on the Noorderzon. Recommended by friends who had good experience with the Noorderzon they visited us for the first time. Group cycled the South route and that was a great success. When the weather was not so good on Friday the group stayed on board and travelled with us to Haarlem, over the North sea Channel to Amsterdam. It was a nice and cosy week which will be repeated by the group in 2007. Leontien and I are looking forward to it.
9 - 16 juli 2005 Guests from Belgium
In the week of 9-16 July the guests from Belgium were on board of the Noorderzon, with guide René our Southern neighbours were cruising through the landscape of North Holland and visited Ecomare, Texel and the famous cheese market of Alkmaar. The Prins Brothers were a few times on board to give the engine the finishing touch, so that is in excellent condition again. The good weather of this week was on our site with only some strong wind from time to time. Frans receive from Leontien a special "potteke" for travelling, which made him very happy. Conclusion: An other good week with good company.
25 juni - 2 juli 2005 Joachim + Helga Sacher and friends
For Joachim and Helga Sacher it was the second visit on board of the Noorderzon and they brought a whole group of friends with them. The route trough the beautiful Dutch river landscape and the pleasant weather made this week successful. Even engine failure of the Noorderzon could not spoil the good mood and luckily we could continue the trip the next day. From Monday 4 july we start with repairing which will be finished on Thursday the 7th.
18 - 25 juni 2005 Jan Lalkens + Rolf Grosse-Westerkamp and friends
Jan Lalkens en Rolf Grosse-Westerkamp were this week with their friends for the second time on board of the Noorderzon. The route around the lake IJsselmeer was as beautiful as the weather of this week. We were dining and singing many times outside on the sundeck, and the water was perfect for swimming. For the first time we stayed anchored the whole night and that was a great experience. It was a lovely week! See you again in 2007.

Many different nationalities, thanks to HAT Tours were sailing on board of the Noorderzon the route trough the North and South of The Netherlands. Rudy guided the tour and thanks to his skills, the Dutch landscape, the pleasant weather and the mainly good wind made this tour to a big success.
4 - 11 juni 2005 Helmut Henjes Group
In the week of 4-11 June we made with the group of Helmut Henjes from the district Hannover (Germany), the North Holland tour. The weather was perfect for cycling, but a bit chilly. Ilse stayed on board an enjoyed the tour from the wheel house. The mobile phone of Karl-Heinz woke him up, but he blamed the fire alarm! The specialities from Leontien's kitchen were much appreciated and everybody is satisfied looking backwards to this week. See you at the next trip!
6 - 13 juni 2005 Wanderkreis Berlin
Wanderkreis Berlin guided by Hannelore and the cycling guide Ebenhard with the route through the Dutch river landscape. A beautiful trip with unfortunately now and then a bit of rain. The rain suite of Hildegard was made waterproof with tape, but in spite of that she got soaky wet because she fell in the water! Luckily without any bad consequences. With the start of the cycling tour from Uithoorn to Amsterdam Eberhard forgot to get ashore on time so the group almost had to leave without their guide. We managed to get him ashore to join the group and everybody arrived safe in Amsterdam. It was a happy and cosy week, we hope to see you again!
14 - 21 mei 2005 Guest from Canada
Two weeks trough Holland with the GRANDDRAGONS DRAGONBOAT PADDLERS from FALSE CREEK BC CANADA. What a great group and what a sportsmanship!! Thanks to the effort our the guide Rudi, everybody got a program that suits the individual wishes. Some people stayed on board and the rest went cycling. Chris could not quit training and sally learned how to make Dutch pancakes (pannenkoeken). During the last dinner everybody was wearing a hat, with the special hat from Volendam of Ellen as the highlight. Afterwards everybody was singing with lead singer Bill. Until the late hours the party mood maintained on board of the Noorderzon. Maybe we manage to organize a special regatta for Dutch dragon-boat paddlers on the next trip.

23 - 30 april 2005 Update of the by us organized Flower Route
Pleasant moments to see regular guests again and to meet new guests. The weather in this week was on our side and the tulips and other flowers where in full bloom. The landscape in the polders was beautiful but the amazing flower fields in the North of Holland where overwhelming. Next year we definitely will organize this trip again, maybe even twice!
16 - 23 april 2005 Guests from Connecticut USA
A group from Connecticut USA with group leader Judy Brooks. She organized this trip by her website www.outdoor-adventures-ct.com. Our "cycling guide" during this North and South Holland trip was Hugo Gietelink. Mrs. Fung Lee had to stay on board because of a broken leg, but she enjoyed her time to the max in the wheel house. Mr. Jack taught us not to greet him at the airport (Hi Jack!!!). Leontien and I had a very enjoyable week with this group.
